Did you know that, when you combine two or more investors to buy a property or fund a loan on a property, you are probably creating a security? When you create a security you will need to operate under both the state and federal securities rule. You can do this, but be sure to do it legally!

During this session we will discuss what is a security, what are the security laws you need to follow and what entities are being used to form investment groups today. You will also hear about the mistakes that real estate agents are making in this area of practice today, and learn how to avoid those mistakes yourself.

As a practicing attorney, in the area of real estate securities laws, Gene Trowbridge, Esq., CCIM, through his law firm Trowbridge and Taylor, LLP participates in helping his clients operate within the securities laws safely.
