REALTORS®Federal Credit Union, A Division of Northwest Federal Credit Union is a full-service financial institution offering the same convenient services you'd expect from a bank, but at a lower cost to our members.

In 2007, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) developed a series of projects under a strategically focused program titled Second Century Initiatives, to support the professional and personal interests of its members.

In November 2008, at NAR's REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Orlando, NAR announced that it had received regulatory approval and a charter was granted to form REALTORS® Federal Credit Union by the National Credit Union Administration. The Credit Union then began operations as the first virtual credit union, serving thousands of NAR members and association staff through innovative banking products nationwide.

In August 2012, to further expand operations and continue its goal of providing NAR members with the most comprehensive menu of banking services possible, REALTORS® Federal Credit Union merged with Northwest Federal Credit Union. With this merger, REALTORS® Federal Credit Union members gained access to more than 5,000 shared branch service centers nationwide plus an enhanced product offering including business checking, mortgage loans, commercial real estate loans and more.

For nearly 70 years, Northwest Federal, headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, has provided valuable financial products and services for our members. As your lifetime financial partner, we'll be there for you when you need us -- from your childhood savings account to financing your college education, first car, family home, and retirement savings. You can count on us to make a positive difference in our members' lives and in the communities we serve.

The Credit Union is a not-for-profit, fully independent legal entity that is wholly-owned by its members, operating under its own board of directors and management team.
