DESCRIPTION:These are the 3 reasons why REALTORS® are still learning about reverse mortgages… \n  \n#1: Older homeowners are having a hard time getting a reverse mortgage \nDepending on their age\, clients may find qualifying for a reverse mortgage more difficult than years before. When this happens\, even if they didn’t initially plan on it\, older homeowners may need to sell their home. According to the National Association  of REALTORS®\, 59% of the homes sold last year were from homeowners 57+ years old. \n  \n#2: Heirs of reverse mortgages need an agent’s help \nThere are currently over 94\,000 active homes with reverse mortgages in CA. When the heirs inherit these homes\, some of them will have a hard time getting control of the property. They will need a real estate agent to help them with the sale. How can you make sure to get to these clients before someone else does? \n  \n#3: Older homeowners are having a hard time qualifying to buy with a regular loan \nMany older homeowners are finding their fixed income will not qualify for traditional financing. This is a 2-day course providing a comprehensive foundation of skill development\, training\, and resources to help real estate professionals represent the interests of sellers in today’s marketplace. \nCompleting this course is just one part of earning the SRS Designation. To earn the Designation\, you must also complete the following: \n\nComplete One (1) Approved Elective Course – One additional course offered by Real Estate Business Institute (REBI)\, the National Association of REALTORS®\, or one of its Institutes\, Societies and Councils is required for the designation. For example\, if you already have your ABR\, RENE\, GRI\, e-PRO\, MRP\, PSA\, etc. – these are some that qualify and you have fulfilled this requirement.\nNAR Membership – You must be a member of the National Association of REALTORS®\nSRS Designation Renewal – Annual renewal of your SRS designation is required\, but upon designation\, your first 12-months of SRS membership with Real Estate Business Institute (REBI) is complimentary. The following year\, membership renewal pro-rated depending on the month of your designation and thereafter\, annual renewal is $99. With REBI membership\, you have access to tools\, resources\, and learning experiences to navigate change.
