Making Places into Spaces, a New Partnership in North Torrance
Home – New Partnership – Making Places into Spaces, a New Partnership in North Torrance
The North Torrance Neighborhood Association with the support of the South Bay Association of Realtors®, the City of Torrance – Public Works Department, Sunflower Farm Nursery and other community partners have worked to create a green community gathering space between 180th and Yukon Avenue. The group has placed boulders, planted trees, and enhanced the overall aesthetics of the location over the past year.
To commemorate the collaboration, a plaque at the new space reads, “This green gathering space for the community was made possible through the generous support of the North Torrance Neighborhood Association in partnership with The South Bay Association of Realtors®, City of Torrance – Public Works Department, Sunflower Farms Nursery. Community Donations: The Furey Family, The Molinelli Family, Torrance Community Credit Union. 2021”
The partnership hosted a community grand opening of the new gathering space on Wednesday, October 27th. Households, businesses, and community members from the surrounding neighborhoods were invited to come meet their neighbors and enjoy the new gathering space. Students and faculty from North High School and Yukon Elementary were also invited to help welcome the newly beautified area.
