In California ADU’s and everything relating to them is a growing conversation. We are going to discuss previous and brand new laws that all agent should be familiar with. Accessory dwelling units aka ADU’s can create additional housing, rental income, personal office space and in the future may even generate additional sales due to the 2024 law wherein a homeowner can turn an ADU into a condominium and sell them separately. There are pros and cons and there is a lot to be aware of in general.
